jinfeng laboratory is located on the bank of fengqi lake in chongqing high-tech zone, western science city. it is a strategic scientific and technological force created by chongqing with the efforts of the whole city and a new r&d institution with independent legal personality. the laboratory covers an area of ​​128 acres, with a construction area of ​​135,000 square meters, supporting construction of 300,000 square meters of high-end talent housing and 1,100 acres of fengqi lake park.

2. introduction by the pi, the leader of the research team

liu chong, doctoral supervisor, winner of the national science fund for distinguished young scholars. he graduated from tsinghua university with a phd in 2008. from 2008 to 2012, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the university of oregon in the united states. from 2013 to 2015, he worked as a research scientist at the university of virginia school of medicine. member of the neuro-oncology branch of the chinese society of neuroscience, member of the neural stem cell and tissue engineering branch of the chinese society of neuroscience, and director of the zhejiang anti-cancer society. hosted or participated in projects including the national science fund for distinguished young scholars, the national key r&d program stem cell project, and the national key r&d program “biological and information fusion (bt and it fusion)” projects; major projects of the natural science foundation; 2 general projects of the natural science foundation ), the zhejiang provincial outstanding youth fund project and the central universities basic business fund special fund and many other national, provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects. he has long been engaged in research on the origin and evolution mechanisms of nervous system tumor cells and corresponding clinical translation. published multiple research papers as corresponding author in nature (2022), advanced science (2020, 2021), journal of neuro-oncology (2016) and other publications.

3. research direction of the research group

the main research direction of the research group is nervous system development and diseases, including the mechanisms of central nervous system tumors and degenerative diseases, the development of glial cells and the construction of homeostatic disease animal models. mainly using the research concepts of developmental biology, developing cutting-edge genetic methods of genetically modified mice, simulating and tracking the disease process in a spontaneous state; giving full play to the advantages of multi-disciplinary interdisciplinary, combining biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, neurobiology technologies such as science, optogenetics and chemical genetics, single molecule in situ sequencing, in vitro differentiation of pluripotent stem cells and 3d human brain organoid culture are used to analyze the mechanisms of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases from multiple levels.

4. job requirements and application conditions

(1) associate researcher/assistant researcher (1-2 people)

1. job content: assist pi to guide postdocs and scientific research assistants to carry out projects, write articles, apply for funds, etc.

2. application requirements: have obtained a doctoral degree in life sciences and basic medicine related majors such as neurobiology, oncology, reproductive biology, developmental biology, immunology, etc., and are generally not more than 40 years old. have rich scientific research experience and independent spirit of exploration, high academic level and strong sense of responsibility, organizational coordination and leadership skills. applicants with research experience in nervous system tumors, neurodegenerative diseases and large animal transgenic model animal construction will be given priority.

3. work location: jinfeng laboratory (full-time).

(2) postdoctoral fellows (3-5 people)

1. work content: under the guidance of pi, carry out independent research, conduct experiments, write articles, apply for funds, etc.

2. application requirements: phd degree in neurobiology, oncology, reproductive biology, developmental biology, immunology and other life sciences or basic medical related majors, generally no more than 35 years old. strong subjective initiative, pragmatism and seriousness, good communication and collaboration skills and a strong sense of responsibility. applicants with research experience in nervous system tumors, neurodegenerative diseases and large animal transgenic model animal construction will be given priority.

3. work location: jinfeng laboratory (full-time).

(3) scientific research assistant (3-5 people)

1. job content: assist in carrying out scientific research projects and completing experiments arranged by the pi (molecular biology, cell biology, animal models, etc.).

2. application requirements: master's degree or above in life sciences, basic medicine and related majors, generally no more than 35 years old. be familiar with medical laboratory management, have solid basic knowledge of medical experimental equipment, have the scientific research level and organizational ability to adapt to your job, and be able to perform project management responsibilities well. be serious and rigorous in work, have a strong sense of responsibility, be good at communication, have service awareness and teamwork spirit.
