Introduction to Jinfeng Laboratory

 

 

Jinfeng Laboratory came into being with the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle. It is the "number one project" of the Western (Chongqing) Science City. It is a strategic scientific and technological force created by Chongqing to build the "416" scientific and technological innovation layout and accelerate the construction of a national scientific and technological innovation center with national influence. The laboratory will be inaugurated and put into operation in June 2022. The first phase covers an area of 128 acres and a construction area of 135,000 square meters.

Jinfeng Laboratory is a legal entity and a new R&D institution. The laboratory adheres to the strategic orientation of people's life and health, anchors the construction goal of "International Pathological Science Research Center", focuses on the core task of "next generation diagnosis of major diseases", carries out strategic and cutting-edge basic research to implement the "Pathological Phenotypic Science Plan", and overcomes "cross-scale multi-modal disease imaging technology" to solve "stuck" key technical problems. It is committed to building new technologies and new systems for disease classification, building a scientific research matrix, gathering talents from all over the world, and carrying out organized scientific research. In October 2024, the first Chongqing laboratory was approved ; In September 2025, relying on the "Standardized High-Quality Data Set for Disease Pathology Diagnosis", it was shortlisted as a national pilot work unit for the construction of high-quality data sets. ; In November 2025, it was awarded the "National Stem Cell Resource Bank (Chongqing)" and became the first branch of the National Stem Cell Resource Bank.

At present, Jinfeng Laboratory has dynamically gathered 62 PI teams (including 7 academician teams) and 737 scientific researchers (including 40 national-level talents), and built 8 leading scientific research platforms such as pathological phenotyping platform and nanosynthesis platform. It has successively undertaken 77 vertical scientific research projects and implemented 58 independent scientific research projects. It has published a total of 517 high-level papers such as SCI, of which 35% have IF (impact factor) greater than 10 points.; Applied for 85 intellectual property rights, obtained 11 patents and 22 soft works. ; Released 2 times and 13 scientific research results, among which the "Central Nervous System Tumor Methylation Clustering Map of Chinese Population" was the first original result of disease classification. ; Obtained 2 Class II medical device registration certificates and 2 Class II medical device production licenses ; 26 scientific and technological enterprises were introduced and cultivated, with an output value of 120 million yuan.
