On the afternoon of February 4, 2026, the laboratory held a 2025 work summary meeting. 481 people attended the meeting, including strategic scientists of the laboratory, relevant leaders of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and Chongqing High-tech Zone, members of the leadership team of the laboratory and the Chongqing-Guangdong Pathological Science Research Center, representatives of the laboratory PI and scientific researchers, all personnel of the scientific research unit, support unit, transformation unit, and operation unit, as well as representatives of some friendly units and cooperative units. The meeting reported on the laboratory construction and development during the "14th Five-Year Plan" and 2025, and commended the collectives and individuals who have made positive contributions to the laboratory in 2025.

The meeting pointed out that completing the goal of "laying the foundation in three years" demonstrates concerted efforts and leading the way. Since the laboratory was inaugurated and put into operation, under the correct leadership of the municipal party committee, municipal government and council, under the careful guidance of the academic committee and strategic scientists, and with the loving support of relevant municipal departments and the high-tech zone management committee, the laboratory started from scratch, laid foundations, erected columns and beams, built a scientific research matrix, gathered talents from all over the world, carried out organized scientific research, successfully completed the goal of "laying the foundation in three years", and became the core support for our city to build the "416" scientific and technological innovation layout and create a life and health science and technology innovation highland.

The meeting made it clear that what is urgently needed to achieve the goal of "results in five years" is to exert all-out efforts and drive forward. “The 15th Five-Year Plan period is a critical stage for the laboratory to advance from a solid foundation to an overall leap. We must adhere to the "four orientations", reduce the research content, work hard on task focus, make new moves in the system and mechanism, and strive to create a new situation in the construction and development of the laboratory. 2026 is the first year of the "15th Five-Year Plan". It is necessary to further improve the quality of high-level platform construction, speed up the introduction and cultivation of high-level talents, make breakthroughs in high-efficiency organized scientific research, increase efficiency in the transformation of high-quality results, and further expand high-level open exchanges and cooperation, striving to achieve a good start and a good start in the development of the "15th Five-Year Plan".
