Introduction by the leader of the research group

Zhang Xinli, Doctor of Medicine (Pathology), is a full-time PI of Jinfeng Laboratory. From 1997 to 2025, after completing postdoctoral training at the University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA, he worked as a full-time teaching and research position until he became a professor and master/doctoral supervisor at UCLA. ； At UCLA in the United States, as project leader, co-leader or main participant, he led the team to obtain various scientific research funds totaling approximately US$15 million. ； As a core member of scientific research, he led the team to complete the full chain of research on the new osteogenic gene/protein NELL1 from basic to clinical transformation, and promoted the startup company Bone Biologics to be listed on Nasdaq. He has published more than 120 SCI papers as the first/corresponding author (including co-authors) in JCI, Nat Conmu, Biomaterials and other magazines. As a mentor, he has led his students to win the Hatton Award in the field of oral medicine research and the ASBMR Young Investigator Award in the field of bone research many times.

Research direction of the research group

The mechanism and application transformation of stem cells and tissue engineering to promote the repair and regeneration of articular cartilage and bone damage.

Job requirements and application conditions

1. Young Scholars (2 persons)

(1) Work content:

Assist the PI to guide postdoctoral fellows and scientific research assistants to carry out specific scientific research projects, write articles, apply for projects, etc. Strive to carry out independent research and develop new research growth points.

(2) Application conditions:

1. Have obtained a doctoral degree in life sciences, medicine and other related majors；

2. Generally no more than 40 years old；

3. Published at least 1 high-level SCI paper as the first or corresponding author in the past three years；

4. Those who are familiar with the fields related to stem cells and regenerative medicine will be given priority, those with practical working experience in iPS cells will be given priority, those with experience in bone and cartilage biological research will be given priority, and those with foreign study and work experience in related fields will be given priority. Have relatively rich scientific research experience and independent spirit of exploration, high academic level and strong sense of responsibility, organizational coordination and leadership skills.

(3) Work location: Chongqing-Jinfeng Laboratory (full-time).

2. Postdoctoral fellows (3 persons)

(1) Work content:

Under the guidance of the PI, carry out independent research and specific experimental work, guide the scientific research work of junior researchers in the laboratory, and write articles, apply for projects, etc.

(2) Application conditions:

1. Have obtained or are about to obtain a doctoral degree in life sciences, basic medicine or related majors；

2. Generally no more than 35 years old；

3. Candidates who have published SCI papers as the first or co-author in the past three years or who have applied for and received funding from provincial and ministerial scientific research funds will be given priority.；

4. Have strong initiative, be down-to-earth and hard-working, have keen insight into the frontiers of scientific research, and have good problem-solving abilities, patience, resilience and perseverance.

(3) Work location: Chongqing-Jinfeng Laboratory (full-time).

3. Scientific research assistant (1-2 people)

(1) Work content:

Assist in the daily management of the laboratory, assist in the implementation of scientific research projects (data and information management, cell biology, animal models, tissue pathology, etc.) according to the requirements of the PI, and participate in the drafting and correction of laboratory documents such as papers and project applications.

(2) Application conditions:

1. Master's degree or above in life sciences, basic medicine, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics and other related majors (candidates with a doctoral degree are preferred, and candidates with foreign study and work experience are preferred)；

2. Generally no more than 35 years old；

3. Have basic theoretical knowledge of medical experimental instruments and equipment, have a scientific research level suitable for the job, have good organizational and coordination skills and strong language communication skills.

(3) Work location: Chongqing-Jinfeng Laboratory (full-time).
